Whole30 Brown Gravy

November 20, 2021 by Dawn

Whole30 Brown Gravy

Here’s the best tried and true recipe for Whole30 Brown Gravy that’s easy to make and super flavorful. The key ingredient is bone broth powder, it really makes the gravy stand out!

I’ve been working on mastering gravy with Whole30 ingredients for the past two holiday seasons and here’s the best tips I can give you:

Bone Broth powder is the way to go, not stock. You can add more to concentrate the flavor this way! For soups this works great too. It’s an incredible shortcut to get the deep rick flavor without taking hours of simmering. (amazon link to my favorite I use year after year)

Tapioca flour works WAY better than arrowroot. She’s really fickle and sometimes arrowroot works and others it won’t. Tapioca is consistent and it’s very similar in thickening behavior as a corn starch would be.

Last and final TIP – you have to watch this over your stove. Keep stirring and don’t let it boil over! Pending on a gas or electric stove the time will vary but the results are DELICIOUS!
